Gabrielle remains ever the diplomat at 8 months of age. She gets along with EVERYONE & does not challenge male or female for lead status. This is not to say that she doesn't have guardian abilities. She alerts, monitors the perimeter & stays with her charges without causing any anxiety whatsoever amongst her goats.
~~UPDATE~~
Recently, due to Amy's impending litter, Gabrielle found herself without a lead female/role model to work with while guarding our herd of Nubian goats. We were pleasantly surprised when we found that Gabrielle immediately stepped up to fill Amy's position as lead guardian dog for the herd. She promises to be a fine Livestock Guardian and also displays the classic Great Pyrenees temperament and disposition - suitable for a family with children.
Gabrielle is reliable, predictable & just a sweet girl to have around. Besides guarding, Gabrielle would prove to be a devoted farm companion or family pet.
