Coming available in mid September will be a litter of non AKC registered
pups. They were born July 26th. They will be eight weeks old
on Saturday September 20th. All of the pups have distinctive
blaireau badger markings, although some are already beginning to fade to
white as they typically do. They are the last litter expected for
2008. The father is Jake and the
mother is Cleo.
These puppies are purebred Great
Pyrenees Livestock Guardian Dogs, but being priced lower at $400, they are
more affordable than the $600 AKC registered pups.
Both parents come from
generations of top notch LGD's, plus both have the sweetest dispositions
you could ever ask for. These pups are likely to inherit these
traits. And did I mention those deep brown adoring eyes? We
call the mom Cleo (short for Cleopatra) just for that reason.
Check back for more information
right here in the near future. Have you noticed our predisposition
toward themed names for our litters? Well, look for something
celestial to happen soon. We're contemplating calling them
the "Constellation" or "Zodiac" litter. We're working on building
their web pages now and will be getting photos done in the coming weeks.

Message from the heavens...
The
great Princess Zorbella, Lady fortuneteller and supreme predictor of
future events has spoken. Gazing intently into her crystal ball as
it glows with the power of the ancient Gypsies, she commands "This puppy,
it is your destiny. It is your fate. One day this puppy will
save a life. It is written"
She advises that you
place a $100 deposit on a puppy. Be the first and you will get the
pick of the litter. These pups will be priced at $300.00 each.
Each comes with our
health guarantee and
money back guarantee.
Princess Zorbella also
recommends that you use this handy Paypal payment button to make your
deposit.

- Weaned
Great Pyrenees Pups:
- All of the puppies in both the 'Bonanza' & 'Gone With the Wind' litters
have been sold (or have a deposit holding them).
Great
Pyrenees Dogs in Training:
The dogs listed here in this section are
in various stages of training. They all have a few things in common.
They are all purebred Great Pyrenees at least 3 months of age. Their
puppy shots and medications are all done. They're good to go with a
clean bill of health. They are all on an annual booster vaccination
schedule now, no more regime of puppy shots to contend with. In fact,
those are our criteria in order to graduate a weaned puppy into this 'Dogs in
Training' category. The younger ones are still adorably cute young
puppies.

- Trained
Working Great Pyrenees Dogs:
-
- The dogs in this section are all
considered to be fully trained and ready to go solo (but pairs are
preferred) guarding your livestock and family. They are socialized
with humans and will get along well with their new owner. In fact,
once they 'approve' you as part of their herd, they will protect you and
your family as well should the need ever arise. They are quite docile
and compliant in nature, even making for a comfortable companion in the
home. But should a threat ever materialize, whether it's a coyote or a
burglar, they will meet the call to action.
-
- At what age is a Great Pyrenees
considered fully trained to guard a herd of goats - sheep - llamas - alpacas
- etc? We have seen the necessary elements come together in various
ages ranging from 8 months old to 18 months old. They tend to reach a
certain maturity level where something just seems to 'click' with them and
they begin taking their responsibilities seriously. Then it's all
about gaining on the job experience. It is rare for a Great Pyrenees
to fail to attain this level of training, as long a the opportunity to learn
the ropes was made available to them through adolescence.
-
- An older untrained Great Pyrenees can
also be brought to this level of guarding ability, but be prepared to deal
with a myriad of potential issues (i.e. bad habits) that you will need to
work through along the way. The Great Pyrenees guarding instinct
remains intact throughout their life.
